Kingfisher: The Newest Place to Eat on Bainbridge Island

The newest offering of Hitchcock Bainbridge is Kingfisher Restaurant, a concept that feels both inventive and grounded in tradition. More than just another addition to the lineup of Bainbridge Island restaurants, Kingfisher is a multi-use boutique food market and wine bar that shifts effortlessly throughout the week. Midday, the wine bar opens with a thoughtful list of wines, cider, sake, and sherry, paired with small plates.

Several times a month, Kingfisher raises the bar even higher with ticketed prix fixe dinners in a five-course chef tasting format, priced at $150 per person, with optional beverage pairings and a la carte enhancements. These meals showcase the very best of the region’s produce, seafood, meat, and foraged ingredients, highlighting the creativity that has made Hitchcock Bainbridge a respected name in Pacific Northwest dining. Much of the produce comes directly from Kingfisher Creek Farm, owned by Chef Brendan McGill and the Hitchcock Restaurant Group.

Wednesday through Saturday from 4 to 8 pm, the Kingfisher menu is inspired by the traditions of Japanese izakaya and Spanish tapas, with happy hour available until 5 pm. Expect dishes such as freshly shucked oysters, seasonal crudo, grilled skewers, and farm-to-table vegetable plates highlighting the ingredients from Hitchcock Bainbridge Farm and other regional producers. The menu shifts with the seasons, often featuring local seafood, heritage meats, and foraged elements that reflect the Pacific Northwest at its peak. The casual, shareable format encourages gathering, eating, and drinking, creating a social dining experience.

Beyond Kingfisher Restaurant, the Hitchcock Restaurant Group portfolio includes several top-rated Bainbridge Island restaurants. Bruciato is known for its wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas, blistered crusts, and carefully sourced toppings that reflect the same commitment to quality found across the group. Hitchcock Delicatessen brings a modern spin to the classic deli, featuring house-cured meats, seasonal salads, and sandwiches that elevate a casual lunch into something worth planning around. Cafe Hitchcock offers a relaxed setting for coffee, pastries, and daytime fare made with ingredients from Kingfisher Creek Farm and other trusted local producers. Together, these restaurants on Bainbridge Island create a great collection of places to eat on Bainbridge Island, all tied to the culinary vision behind Hitchcock Bainbridge.
